Wadi Rum, also known as the Valley of the Moon, is a large protected area in south Jordan. It covers 720 square kilometers. It is the largest wadi in Jordan and has been inhabited since prehistoric times, which is evidenced by the petroglyphs inside the park. The British General, T.E. Lawrence, traveled through Wadi Rum several times during the Arab Revolt in the early 1900s. The remnants of his home are here.
